Kalle Akkerman is a junior at Austin High and he also plays percussion in th Austin Symphony Orchestra. Kalle has been in music all his life, he has been taking piano lessons since he was 5 and he is 17 now. He is one out of a select few Austin youth that plays pipe organ or piano at Austin area churches. Recently Kalle has had his talent recognized, he won the Minnesota Music Teachers Association Youth Artist Organ Competition. This story is what Austin is all about ...... young musicians who play extremely well. Young artists should earn more recognition like Kalle is getting instead of just hearing about older musicians.
